Between the Wants and the Needs
You sit in front of your laptop, scrolling through pages of content. You take a break by scrolling through your phone. And between this and that, hundreds, if not thousands of things pop up on your screen. Whether be it a friend getting that job you wanted, a relative getting into a relationship, a stranger travelling the world, or maybe even some old childhood friend who has it all figured out.
You sit there, craving these things, unable to reach them, spiraling thoughts too fast for you to catch and reign in.
But you can take a step back, look at it from an objective point of view, think and reflect: is this something I need? Or is it just something I want?
"I want but I do not need." Keep that in mind whenever you see something achievable but out of reach at the moment.
Time is not slipping away as fast as you think it is. All in good time. Take those thoughts that overwhelm you and recognize them for what they are: just thoughts. They do not define you, or make you bitter. They do not show some deep hatred you have for the world, they're just the thoughts of a young person limited by what they have, limited by what they are. With time, with effort, they go away, and you're left feeling better.
Take your time, and do things to the best of your abilities, you will not regret effort. Trust me.
